A head's up - I'm Lauren's, uh. Guy. However that works.
I was verily struck, when sneaking around in the Austin parental abode with her my last visit, by the painted postcard of surreal, even dark leaning, traffic scene on the fridge. I commented on it while drinking some of her Dad's beer and was surprised to learn that I was exactly correct about the artist's intention.
I'm not sure where you're going with the somewhat recent realism approach, but it looks promising. Probably moreso up close. Also, the rooster theme-cycle is hilarious because it instantly reminded me of the Guided By Voices tune "Don't Stop Now", which is all about a rooster in Dayton/OH that thought it was. Well. A rooster.
You've a fan, and not just because I know your girl's sister. Keep it up!
